Adi Guru Sri Dattatreya is revered as the eternal yogi, a divine protector of cows, and a symbol of Vedic wisdom and simplicity. He is always accompanied by sacred cows, embodying the perfect balance of spiritual knowledge (Jnana), renunciation (Tyaga), and dharmic living (Dharma).

In this Mela, Sri Dattatreya is honored not only in form but through action—with a Gau Palki Yatra, where his vigraha will be paraded alongside native cows, accompanied by Vedic chants and bhajans. He is the spiritual heart of Gau Dharma, and this Mela is offered at his divine feet.
